home sweet home January 30, 2007

The past couple of days have been busy. My weekend started out well with a movie and drinks. I finally got to go see Pan’s Labyrinth which I really enjoyed. Then went out to a bar for a little and had a great time watching others sing and fall over. Saturday I headed out to Pittsburgh to visit with friends and had a yummy meal and saw another good movie. We went to see the Queen which was good and actually amusing in some parts. Sunday was my final PCM meeting which is sad because we finally had a good turn out for this one. I handed out everyone’s sample packs and had a HUGE bowl of mushroom soup.

Later that day my weekend stopped being so much fun. I was heading home from Pittsburgh and ran into lots of bad weather and car problems. The problems with my car were my fault because I should have gotten new wipers but I put it off and oh boy did that not work out. I was driving blind on the highway for at least a mile until I finally got off to find an auto place only to get lost! So finally I found a Pep Boys moments before they closed and got a new set of wipers. I was on my way thinking it would be a quick trip home only to get stuck in a snow storm. It was by far the worst weather I had ever been in. I had to stop after hours of driving 10mph at a Comfort Inn and stay the night. All in all it wasn’t so great and now I think I am going to stay tucked away in my house until I have to venture out in March to get on a plane for Seattle. NO more roadtrips for me until it reaches at least 60 degrees.

My plans for tomorrow are to try and get as much done as possible. I feel kind of overwhelmed with all that I need to get done in the next couple of weeks.

Everything between us January 24, 2007

Today was a lazy day. I think I finally found a great apratment that will be ready for the renting in early march. This got me really excited to start planning other things that needed done. I left the house once today to go to a quick meeting at work and to pick up a movie. I got Sherry Baby which had Maggie Gyllenhall in it. I love her and I think she did I great job in this movie. The story was sad and truthful.

I would recommend watching it.

I finished a zillion samples for various things coming up. I purchased the largest envelope I have ever seen in my life today.

There are a lot of things to look forward to in the next couple of months. I wish a craft show was coming up soon I really feel like going to one but I don’t know of any this month.

never too late January 23, 2007

I don’t have to go to work tomorrow which means I can spend the enitre day sewing to complete a wholesale order and finishing the sample packs for the Pittsburgh Craft Mafia. I have so many ideas on paper and really want to be able to spend time working on all of them. I am also in need of felt so maybe a trip to the fabric store too.

I think I found another apartment and this time I am going to call immediately. I am calling as soon as their office opens tomorrow. I waited too long on all the others. Not too many exciting things happened today although I did watch Harold and Maude for the first time. Oh and we finally got some snow and I hope a little more is on the way.

I wish I could go to this

I’ve really been in the mood for shopping lately. I want to get this:

I had a great weekend. On Friday I went to shopping and went to Target and got a new sweater and some supplies at the craft store. Then I went out to eat with my sister and her husband. I ate way too much but it was delicious. Saturday I spent most of the day getting caught on up on boring things and then went out with some friends. Sunday was spent like most Sundays being lazy and hanging out in my bed.

I really really want a hedgehog. They are so cute. I helped my parents make chocolate souffle. I never had it before but I really liked it. Not too much to say except I am waiting to hear back from a really great apartment so keep your fingers crossed for me. I hope they call me and tell me it is still available. I am willing to pay for an extra month to keep it because we belong together. I am excited that tomorrow is Friday. I am going to go shopping after work and to kinkos to get some things printed. After my errands I am going to meet my sister and her husband for dinner. It should be a fun night. I have no other plans yet except to put all my new fabrics to use and sew sew sew. Be still my heart January 17, 2007

The lack of sleep is starting to effect my ability to do just about everything. I really hope I can fall asleep before 3am tonight. I’m so glad I only work 6 hours tomorrow because it means I can do fun things like drive out to the land of amish and buy some lovely fabric. Maybe I’ll even stop for a donut on the way.

thermal underwear uniform January 15, 2007

I never go to bed early enough on Sunday nights. It is already 1am and I’m not really tired yet. My weekend was pretty good considering I rarely left the house. I needed to get caught up on making stuff for various orders and such. I ended up making about 20 pouches which is pretty good considering everything I sewed on Saturday night turned out awful. I watched some really good movies including Big Eden, I sure love gay romances. I also drank way too much coffee and stayed in bed reading until noon both days.
In other news I have been trying to make plans to move to Seattle. I checked out information about the plane and I can take my guinea pig, wiggy! I just need to get her a carrier and she can travel with me under my seat. I also looked into having a bed shipped and the rest of my belongings. I have so much planning to do in the next couple of months. I have also been looking at apartments on craigslist pretty much everyday. I called about one this weekend but just got an answering machine so hopefully it isn’t gone yet. It was really nice with wooden floors and an old fashion kitchen.

Good things about tomorrow:

1. Its FRIDAY

2. I don’t have to dress up for work

3. Its payday and I have a shopping trip planned for after work

I started to feel a lot better today which is good because I worked 10 hours and if I had still been sick I might have fallen asleep driving home. I’m excited that tomorrow starts the weekend and I plan to spend mine sewing and getting a bunch of things done that I’ve wanted to do all week but barely had the energy to think about before falling asleep

I am going to make some clothes this weekend. I always get inspired to make clothes when I watch Project Runway and this week the entire first season came in the mail so I have been watching episodes every chance I get. I have so many new projects in my mind I think it might explode if I don’t spend time trying to make them. Things have been really good lately. I feel really happy with everything.

So I took the day off work today but most of it was spent asleep in bed under layers of blankets and a dog. I hope I start to feel better tomorrow because having the energy of a baby squirrel is just not cutting it. The most exciting part of my day was my mom finding a christmas present she forgot to give to me, a purple plaid shirt. Tomorrow will be more exciting things such as buying plane tickets and finally getting out of bed.
